Stomp, Snap & Jump

OBJECTIVE: Improve 'fundamental motor patterns' that all children need to develop. Including proper hand-eye coordination, sequencing, imagination, memory, closure, spatial awareness, finger and hand strength, coordination and balance.

EQUIPMENT: None

ACTIVITY PREPERATION: This is a great little activity to do at the start of every session before you get into the more active drills.

Set the scene

Get your little one to sit on their bottoms with their legs bent & out in front of them. Have them switch on their listening ears, and then we are ready to start.

Activity Instructions

#1
First we do our elephant stomp…1…2…3…

Then we do our crocodile snap…1…2…3…

Then we touch our knees…

Then we touch our toes…

Then we tickle our tummies…

And then we touch our nose!

#2 Progression

Stand up and hide your face…1…2…3…BOO! …1…2…3…BOO! …1…2…3…BOO!

Turn around, touch the ground, one big frog jump and do our tarzan call.

Pro tip

Once you are doing this on a regular basis, start to encourage your little one to say the words and finish the sentences.
